Module 3: Cytology (Cells)

OBJECTIVES: Cells are the first living level of organization.  They provide the foundation for our tissues, organs, and systems.  In this module, you will learn the components of the cell and their roles in maintaining a functioning environment within the cell.  You will also be able to describe how the cell transports various particles across its membrane.

Upon completion of this module you will be able to:
  • Know the components of a cell and their functions.
  • Describe cellular transport mechanisms.
