Module 4: Histology (Tissues)

OBJECTIVES: In this module, we will focus on the different types of tissues, where they are found, and their function. Additionally, you will be able to distinguish the various types of cells, fibers, and molecules that comprise the different tissues.  You will also learn about the types of membranes found in the body.

Upon completion of this module you will be able to:
  • Know the four main types of tissues.
  • Describe the structure, function, and location of each specific type of tissue.
  • Know the difference between exocrine and endocrine glands.
  • List the types of membranes and explain how they differ in structure and function.
